If you’re a coaster enthusiast seeking an adrenaline-pumping ride that will leave you breathless, look no further than Velocicoaster at Universal’s Islands of Adventure. Just this past July, I had the opportunity to ride this incredible coaster and my god, what a coaster it was! As an avid coaster lover, I can confidently say that this heart-pounding attraction has taken the top spot in my coaster rankings. Its high speed, thrilling maneuvers, and rare elements make it a truly unforgettable experience. Among its many awe-inspiring moments, the mosasaurus roll over the lagoon stands out as my absolute favorite.

From the moment Velocicoaster launches, the sensation of blistering speed sends an electrifying surge of excitement through your entire body. The coaster starts with an LSM launch along side a few raptors. Propelling you from 0 to 50 miles per hour in just a matter of seconds, you are forced into your seat as you hurtle towards the first element, an Immelmann. leaving you clinging to your seat in anticipation of what’s to come, the relentless speed ensures an exhilarating ride from start to finish.

Velocicoaster’s layout is a masterful blend of elements that keeps the adrenaline pumping throughout the entire ride. The inversions, airtime hills, and high-speed turns offer an intense mix of forces that challenge even the most seasoned coaster enthusiasts. Each twist and turn is meticulously designed to provide maximum thrills, leaving riders on the edge of their seats and craving more. After the surge of quick transitions and second element, a dive loop, the coaster soon moves onto the main event. The Launch to the top hat. 

From a speed of 20mph, within a few seconds you are soon hurtling towards a top hat element at 70mph. Flying high into the sky, you soon have an amazing view of Islands of Adventure and neighbouring park. After a whip of air time and a fast drop down near the lagoon, you find yourself hanging in a drawn out, inverted stall. Possibly the favourite element for most thrill seekers until you reach undoubtedly, the crown jewel of Velocicoaster. The mosasaurus roll! 

 This is an intense heart line roll  where the coaster rotates 360 degrees while riders experience a powerful lateral G-force, giving the feeling of being twisted upside down. The heartline roll is known for its smooth and precise execution, making it a highlight of the ride for many roller coaster enthusiasts.
